Frogging a Sweater*

Have you ever knit a sweater, cardigan or pullover, and for whatever reason, you will never wear it? Don’t let those sweaters languish in your closet, reknit them into something you will love to wear! This class does not teach you how to knit a sweater, but steps you through the process of frogging a sweater, prepping it, and options to re-purpose your yarn into another sweater. Let’s Rip-it!

*any sweater previously knit that wasn’t steeked

Class: Frogging a Sweater
Skills required: You have a knit sweater you want to frog.
You will learn: Where to start to frog, how to frog, & prep the yarn.

Supplies Needed for class:  

1. Your sweater you want to frog. Do not frog it before class. Bring any information you have on the sweater you knit, pattern if you had it, and any information you have about the yarn used.
   
   

First class:  We will obtain the details from the sweater you previously knit-gauge, yarn size, amount of yarn, needle(s) used, etc. We will learn where to start to frog it and how to frog it and put it into hanks, to prep for re-blocking the yarn. You will learn how to wash the yarn to attempt to smooth out the spaghetti yarn. We will discuss sweater options and how to search for them if you do not want to reknit the same sweater.

Second class:  Bring your blocked/washed yarn to class and we can rewind into cakes and pick a sweater that works for you. There are many options to reknit it and Amy will go over these options for you.

Students are given a 10% discount for supplies needed for class and any purchases at the shop during class days, excluding sale items, gift cards, classes, and events.
