The inspiration for our 2014 color was the historic Minnesota State Prison. Yes, kind of weird inspiration. The theme for the shop hop that year was Local Color. We decided on the prison because it was a big deal. It was the first Federal Prison in the state of MN. Read all about the history here.
We sent Felicia and her team a few images of the prison and as we expected, the most beautiful grey arrived.
The yarn is CashLuxe Fine. A cashmere-blend sock yarn contains 20% cashmere for the softest hand that's perfect for wearing next to the skin. It’s a bouncy, soft yarn that is reinforced and perfect for small one-skein shawls, cowls, baby gifts, or socks. Or knit it up doubled for a worsted weight substitute.
The pattern we designed was a shawl with a keyhole slot to tuck the end into. We call it "Different Stripes for Different Types". We played a bit on the prison stripes theme with our "choose your own adventure" kind of pattern. Answer a few questions to determine where you want your stripes:) This listing is for just the prison grey color, not the minis.
