Celebrate the season with our May Makers League Project: Gone Fishing!
We’re kicking things off in true Minnesota style, honoring the legendary Governor's Minnesota Fishing Opener, this year for the first time, along the beautiful St. Croix River.
Whether you’re casting on at the cabin or stitching from the comfort of home, this kit is equal parts useful, whimsical, and just the right amount of weird (in the best way).
This playful, lake-day-inspired kit has everything you need for a little creative catch-and-release:
- A skein of worsted-weight 100% cotton yarn, hand-dyed by our very own Carly.
- Two knit patterns: A new pattern from us for easy knit fish washcloths, and a soft stuffed fish pattern by Sarah Kellner called Keepers - no fishing license required:)
- The washcloths pair well with...a hilariously realistic fish-shaped bar of soap, made by Jazmine. The owner of Northcast MN. Another great Minnesota Maker!! Also included in the kit!
- The first 100 people to purchase a kit will get our monthly locking stitch marker with charm. This month is...wait for it...a fish!
You'll also need a US3 circular needle. 32" long for magic loop knitting if you are making the stuffed fish!
You'll have enough yarn to make a few washcloths AND the fish if you want!
Mother's or Father's Day or holiday gift idea? Make the stuffed fish and mount it for a fisherperson in your life. Maybe they can hang it with their other "trophy" catches at the cabin!!
Yep, the patterns in the kit are knit, but here is a link to a fun crochet fish from the National Park Service! And there are more crochet fish washcloth patterns than you can shake a rod at:) Here's a great one by Judith Prindle
