This month's project is JUST A BLANKIE.
Please look through all images to choose your color. The best representation of color are the small flat squares!
Everything is popping up baby at Darn Knit this summer. Three grandbabies are arriving to our Rockstar Team and it’s full-time baby knitting around here.
This is the perfect baby blankie for a new momma. Small, perfect for a stroller or car seat, perfect for a little one to carry around as a lovey too!
Oh, and Berroco Remix is machine washable!
What’s not to love?
Kit includes
2 balls of Berroco Remix, 216 yards/100 grams each.
Hard copy of the pattern Just a Blankie
24" square.
Our sample is blue. It's hard to photograph, but it is a soft blue. It is color 3963 Elderberry.
This blanket is knit in the round from the center outward. You can use double pointed needles or a long circular needle and magic loop technique to begin this blanket. Switch to longer circular needles as needed. We knit the entire blanket on a US7 - 47" and magic loop technique. Click here for the needle.
We used every last bit of 2 balls of yarn. The last few rounds take 8 yards of yarn per round. Feel free to bind off early if you feel you may run out. It's just a blankie after all!
If you want to make the blankie bigger, you can add another ball or two of Remix by clicking this link. Each ball will grow the blankie by 2.5" or so...
Sue's new grand-baby Josephine fits perfectly on Just a Blankie! What a sweetie!!
The first 75 kits sold will include a pinback button with an adorable bicycle. CUUUUTE!
The monkey in the first pictures is Jerry the Musical Monkey. That is a $6 pattern from Etsy. You can find the link through Ravelry here.
The hippo is from Itty Bitty Toy's book by Susan Anderson (THE expert in knitting toys, for sure). We aren't sure the book is still in print, but you can find them at your library or online used somewhere!
