Ramona Cardigan

The Ramona Cardigan is the perfect sweater for beginner to advanced-beginner knitters looking for their next project.  The Ramona is a raglan-style cardigan that is knit top-down with a crew neck and slight waist shaping.  Julie will walk you through this sweater’s construction from making a gauge swatch to the finishing technique of picking up stitches for a button band.  Using Aran weight yarn, it is easy to see much progress over a few weeks of class. 

Class: Ramona Pullover 
Skill Level: Must be able to knit, purl and knit in the round comfortably.
You will learn: construction of a raglan style cardigan, how to swatch, make buttonholes, pick up stitches for the button band and neck band.  In addition, you will cast on using knit and purl cast-on techniques, and increase using the techniques of make one left and make one right.

• Ramona Pattern by Elizabeth Smith.  Available for purchase in the shop or on Ravelry
• Aran Weight yarn
• Approx 775 (825, 900, 975, 1030, 1075) (1175, 1250, 1325, 1410, 1510) yds
• Finished bust sizes of 33.25 (35.25, 38.5, 41.75, 44, 46) (50.25, 53.5, 56.75, 60, 64)”

• US 9-24”/60 cm and 32”/80 cm circ needles, or size needed to obtain gauge. 
• US 9 DPNs or circular for magic loop for sleeves, or size used to obtain gauge 
• US 8 32”/80 cm, 16”/40 cm circ and DPNs, or 1 needle size smaller than that used to obtain gauge.
• Stitch markers. 
• Tapestry needle. 
• 2 pieces of scrap yarn or Barber cord
• Buttons: 7 or 8 buttons depending on size made
