Ruffles Sock

You know that in-between time of year when it’s no longer winter, but it’s not quite sandals weather either? When wool socks feel too heavy, but bare ankles still seem a little optimistic? Ruffles Socks are the perfect solution! These charming socks are worked top-down, beginning with a playful ruffled cuff. The ruffle is seamlessly integrated into the cuff, creating a delicate, elegant edge without the need to pick up stitches. Contrasting color at the ruffle, heel, and toe add a stylish pop and make this design especially fun to knit. In this class, you’ll practice key sock-knitting techniques while creating a pair of light, stylish socks that are perfect for transitional weather.

Class: Ruffles Socks
Skills required: must be very comfortable knitting, purling, increasing, decreasing, and working small circumferences using magic loop or DPNs. Ideally, students should have knit a basic sock (DKA's My First Sock class is a good prerequisite, but not required).
Skills you will learn: Swatching and measuring gauge, technique for knitting decorative cuff, creating heel flap and gusset, managing a contrasting color, three-needle bind-off, Kitchener stitch.
