Milet Mittens
Create these stunning stranded mittens inspired by colorwork traditions from Norway, Estonia, and Latvia. Foldover ribbed cuffs are worked on the inside for a snug fit to keep out the cold. Learn how to knit a traditional thumb gusset and rounded decrease shaping while keeping even tension in the colorwork sections.

Skills Required: Basic skills (knit, purl, increase, decrease, cast-on, bind-off); previous mitten knitting experience; comfortable knitting small circumferences with magic loop or double pointed needle; experience knitting stranded colorwork using a chart.

Supplies Needed:
- Pattern: Milet Mittens by Ysolda Teague
- Yarn: Fingering or sport weight yarn in 3 colors (40 yards of color 1, 135 yards of color 2, 75 yards of color 3). Recommended yarns include Cascade 220 Sport, Cascade Heritage 6, Patagonia Merino, Cascade Heritage Fingering, Jamieson & Smith 2-Ply, Uni Merino, Woolstok Light.
- Needles: US1.5 and 2.5 or size needed to obtain gauge.
NOTE: we will not be doing a gauge swatch in class. Please come to class knowing which needles provide you with the correct gauge/fabric.
Students are given a 10% discount for supplies needed for class and any purchases at the shop during class days, excluding sale items, classes and events.
