Crafting on the Croix

Join us this winter for a cozy, hands-on creative retreat in beautiful downtown Stillwater! Crafting on the Croix is a 3-day experience featuring six unique workshops led by local artisans — including needle felting, candle pouring, screen printing, jewelry making, wood crafting, and more.

You'll rotate through every workshop, creating your own handcrafted keepsakes in the heart of Stillwater's historic district. Perfect for makers of all skill levels!

Workshop 1: Needle Felt Succulent

Location: Darn Knit Anyway
Discover the cozy art of needle felting as you learn the basics of shaping wool into a felted succulent. Using special barbed needles and colorful wool roving, you’ll be guided through fundamental techniques to sculpt your very own soft and fuzzy plant that won't die! No experience needed — just bring your creativity and a willingness to try something new!

Workshop 2: What’s Your Word? What’s Your Message?

Morse Code Bracelet Workshop
Location: Smith & Trade Mercantile
Artisan: Salt & Faith
In this meaningful workshop, you’ll create a custom morse code bracelet featuring a word or phrase that inspires or empowers you. What is a Morse Code Bracelet? These beautiful bracelets are an arrangement of dots (champagne glass Czech beads) and dashes (glass Czech bugle beads) that hold secret message. Maybe it is for yourself or as a gift for someone in your life. This can also be a bracelet to remind you of your intentions, dreams, or goals.

Workshop 3: Screen-Printed Tote Bag & Handmade Earrings

Location: Minnesota Made
Get hands-on with two stylish keepsakes! First, learn the basics of screen printing as you print your own souvenir Crafting on the Croix tote bag. Then, shift gears to jewelry-making and create a pair of handmade earrings using a selection of fun materials by artist Northern Lights Design. Leave with two beautiful items made entirely by you!

Workshop 4: Custom Scented Candle Pouring

Location: Carpe Noctem Candle Co
Get lit with us at our candle making workshop! Our chandlers will guide you through an olfactory sensory journey of fragrances and help you create two 9 oz candles with your own custom scent. Upgrade your experience with one of our unique candle vessels or wine/beer/soda. Enjoy browsing our store for a 10% discount on all purchased made that day.

Workshop 5: Wood Tray Workshop

Location: AR Workshop Stillwater
Create a beautiful 6" x 16" wood tray with handles—a functional piece of home decor you’ll use for years to come. Choose from a curated selection of non-toxic paints and stains, and learn a variety of hands-on techniques to personalize your tray. Guided by AR Workshop’s expert instructors.

Workshop 6: Painted Canvas

Location: Kari’s Create & Paint
Unleash your inner artist as you paint a 16" x 20" canvas, guided step-by-step by a local instructor. Whether you’re a beginner or seasoned painter, you’ll leave with a finished piece ready to hang or gift. All painting materials and inspiration included!

Cancellation & Refund Policy


Full refunds up to 14 days before the event.

No refunds allowed within 14 days of the event (Must receive notice by 8am February 6th to receive a refund)

Registration may be transferred to another participant wiht notice up to 24 hours in advance.

If we need to cancel Crafting on the Croix for any reason (such as severe weather or safety concerns) you'll receive a full refund of your registration fees.

FAQ 

• Grab your lanyard and schedule in the Maker's Lounge, Darn Knit Anyway before 4pm on Friday, Feb 20th and make your way to your first workshop!
• All workshops are within a few blocks in Downtown Stillwater, MN.
• You'll have 1 workshop on Friday, 3 workshops on Saturday, and 2 workshops on Sunday.
• Workshops will be limited in size to 12 crafters per session.
• You do not need any prior experience to attend workshops. These are very beginner-friendly!
• All supplies are included. 
• This is a 3 day event. No single day registrations.
