Building Blocks Class 2026

This price is for ALL 12 in-person sessions in 2026. We also have an online (Zoom) option here.

Register once and come to all classes listed below. Class is from 6 - 7:30pm on the 3rd Tuesday evening of the month and/or 10:30 - noon on the 3rd Wednesday morning of the month.

Knit a blanket, 1 square at a time. Great class for an adventurous beginner who wants to improve their skills!

“Building Blocks” is a series of 12 fun patterns that will build your knitting skills. Starting with simple knit and purl stitches, your confidence will grow as you progress through several major knitting principles. Each block focuses on new stitches and techniques in a sequential fashion that “builds” upon the previously learned skill.

At the end of the series, the knitter is rewarded with an abundance of knitting know-how and 12 beautiful squares to assemble into a sampler afghan or baby blanket.

Learn a bunch of fun new techniques with some fun folks! Class meets once a month and is only $60 for the WHOLE YEAR! Thats $5 per class if you can believe it:) You can be a very new knitter for this class or you can be more experienced and just want someone to hold your feet to the fire!

Some people buy all the yarn up front, and some buy a different skein each month! The choice is yours! 



If you want to use a different yarn or other colors thats great! You may need to special order. We order on the 1st and 15th of the month, and it takes about 10 days to get yarn in stock! So if you can order by December 10th, we should have plenty of time to get your yarn in for the first class.

Supplies Needed:

• Building Blocks Book from Knit Purl Hunter  the book can purchased on the DKA website here.  If you prefer a digital book it can be purchased at DKA. You will need either book or e-book for class.  
• US 8 or 9-24 inch circular needle
• You will receive a 10% discount for materials.  
  • Hikoo Simpliworsted (10 skeins for one color, 12 skeins for more than one color)
    Berroco Vintage Chunky (10 skeins for one color, 12 skeins for more than one color)
  • If you want to knit it all in 1 color, you'll only need 10 skeins .
