We're excited to announce our next 4-12 Knit-A-Long of 2025, and it is a shawl! We know you are not all sweater knitters. We love sweaters, but we want to shake things up and include other kinds of projects in our quarterly KAL. Will we still knit sweaters? Yes, but we will knit other projects too. If you have never joined our 4 in 12 KALs, now is the time to jump in!

Our project this quarter is Barnstable
Barnstable is an asymmetrical garter knit shawl with beautiful mosaic details. Mosaic knitting is an easy and fun to knit colorwork technique that uses slipped stitches and only one color at a time.
This shawl can be knit in any DK weight yarn, but we especially like it in Malabrigo's Dos Tierras. We haven't had Dos Tierras on the shelves for a while, but are excited to bring back this beautiful Wool/Alpaca blend for our KAL!
You will need 2 skeins Dos Tierras for the Main Color and one skein for the contrast color, or approximately 420 yards and 210 yards of a similar DK weight yarn. The Mosaic pattern shows up best with two contrasting colored yarns. Other yarns to consider are La Bien Aimee Merino DK, Malabrigo Arroyo, or Vintage DK
Zoom sessions will begin on Wednesday, July 2 at 10-11 AM and 6-7 PM, with Study Hall kicking off the following week in the Makers' Lounge from 10-11 AM. Registering for this class will get you the Zoom link for both the 10am class and the 6pm class. Feel free to come to the morning or evening session, or both! You are welcome to attend any meeting of this free knit-a-long.

During Zoom sessions, extensive demonstrations may be limited, as we do our best to answer as many questions as we can and help as many people as possible! If you are wanting some one-on-one help, we recommend attending the Study Hall In-Person classes on the opposite Wednesdays as the Zooms. If you are unable to attend Study Hall, we ask that you call and make an appointment so we can assure that one of our staff is available to assist you.
You may or may not have experience with some of these techniques, and we anticipate that everyone will be at different learning stages throughout this knit-a-long.
