Fix It or Frog It? A Sweater Rehab Workshop

Fix It or Frog It? A Sweater Rehab Workshop
Got a sweater (or three) languishing in your closet because something just isn’t right? Don’t let all that knitting go to waste! This hands-on, one-session workshop will help you breathe new life into your under-loved knits.

We’ll kick things off with a fun, supportive show-and-tell—bring your unworn sweater and share what’s not working. With expert guidance and thoughtful group feedback, you’ll get help deciding whether your project can be saved with a few clever fixes, or if it’s time to frog and start fresh.

Then, spend the rest of the class reworking, reimagining, or reclaiming your yarn as you begin the journey to a sweater you’ll love to wear.

Homework is required: Please bring no more than two sweaters you have knit to share with the group. Depending on the number of students, the group will evaluate at least one sweater per student.
Skills required: Having an open mind and being willing to take and give constructive feedback.
You will learn: Depending on the projects shared, you'll explore a range of both simple and advanced techniques for fixing common sweater issues—like sizing problems (too big or too small), awkward sleeve or body lengths, tight bind-offs, yarn choices that didn’t quite work out, or even unflattering colors.

If you decide to fix your sweater, your instructor will guide you step by step through the adjustments needed to make it wearable and wonderful. If you choose to frog, you'll learn how to carefully unravel your work and properly prep the yarn for a fresh start, so nothing goes to waste.
