Snowflake Tote



Take your colorwork knitting to the next level as you join Lori and Lynn to create this beautiful stranded tote. This multidisciplinary class will result in a knitted bag with a custom sewn lining. Over several weeks, Lori and Lynn will walk you through all the steps so you can start the new year with a gorgeous new bag.

Class:  The Snowflake Tote
Skills Required:  Some experience with colorwork/stranded knitting and hand or machine sewing. Comfortable knitting in the round, including small circumference knitting using either DPNs or Magic Loop
You will learn: Tips to improve your colorwork, picking up stitches, how to create a fabric lining, how to assemble the tote.

Supplies Needed: 

  • Flocke pattern (knit version) - available on Ravelry and Rowan

  • Worsted weight yarn - 100 grams each of two colors. We suggest: Queensland Falkland Worsted, Cascade 220, Cascade Superwash Merino, Berroco VintageBlue Sky Woolstok

  • US 7 and US 8 circular needles (24" or 32") and US 7 DPNs or long cable for Magic Loop

  • Information on finishing items listed below will be provided and reviewed at first class. Only knitting supplies are needed on the first day of class.

  • Lining fabric, batting, and plastic canvas/cardboard to reinforce the bottom of the tote. Thread and sewing tools (including machines) will be available for use during the third session.


NOTE: There are three weeks between the second and third class sessions to give people plenty of time to complete the knitting portion of the project.


Students are given a 10% discount for supplies needed for class and any purchases at the shop during class days, excluding sale items, gift cards, classes, and events.

Register early. Classes with fewer than three students will be canceled 72 hours before the start date, and Participants will receive a full refund. No refunds will be issued for registration canceled 72 hours before class.
