4 in 12 KAL Lento
We're excited to announce our 4th sweater for om for our 4th quarter sweater for our 4-12 Knit-a-Long of 2024.
Lento by Jonna Helin.
Lento by Jonna Helin.
This session begins on Zoom on Wednesday, October 9.
Lento is a simple and timeless sweater. It is knitted from the top down in the round with raglan increases. The yoke is shaped with short rows. After the yoke is completed, the work is divided into the body and sleeves, which are then knitted separately in the round.
Lento is yarn-flexible, and has been knit in everything from fingering weight up through worsted. We recommend holding a lace-weight mohair or suri alpaca with a fingering weight yarn, double, OR using a single strand of DK weight yarn. Most importantly, we recommend you gauge swatch for 15 stitches to 4 inches.
If you are trying to decide whether this project is your skill level, you should be very comfortable...
- knitting and purling flat
- making German Short Row double stitches and resolving them knit-wise and purl-wise.
- knit-front-back (kfb) and purl-front-back (pfb) increases

New to 4-in-12? It's a free quarterly sweater knit-a-long that meets every other week on zoom in the morning and the evening. On the opposite Wednesdays, an in-person study hall meets in the mornings at the Makers Lounge.
This is a knit along, not a traditional "class". You won't get specific instruction from us as you are knitting. We all knit this sweater together, but at our own paces, and discover the 'quirks' of the pattern together. We will do our best to answer questions when they come up, but this is not a formal class.
If you live locally, you are welcome to come to the in-person knit-along times the weeks opposite the zoom class.
We look forward to knitting along with you.
We are offering a 10% discount on yarn for this project! Use coupon code 4in12

During Zoom sessions, extensive demonstrations may be limited, as we do our best to answer as many questions as we can and help as many people as possible! If you are wanting some one-on-one help, we recommend attending the Study Hall In-Person classes on the opposite Wednesdays as the Zooms. If you are unable to attend Study Hall, we ask that you call and make an appointment so we can assure that one of our staff is available to assist you.
You may or may not have experience with some of these techniques, and we anticipate that everyone will be at different learning stages throughout this knit-a-long.
