4 in 12 KAL Summer Soundtrack

We're excited to be knitting another Elizabeth Smith pattern for our 2nd 4 in 12 Sweater of 2024. Summer Soundtrack!

This session begins on Zoom on April 10th.

This sweater is worked in a sport/dk weight yarn with short sleeves! It is knit in the round from the bottom up to the armholes, then split and worked flat as you work the yoke and shape the shoulders. Shoulders are seamed with Three Needle Bind Off Technique. Then stitches are picked up around the neckline and armholes for ribbed edges.

If you are trying to decide whether this project is your skill level, you should be very comfortable knitting and purling and should have knit some projects that include increasing and decreasing (k2tog, ssk). You will work some short rows in this project as well (wrap & turn). This is a very easy 2 color project. So if you are just learning how to use a 2nd color, this is a good project for you.

New to 4-in-12? It's a free quarterly sweater knit-a-long that meets every other week on zoom in the morning and the evening. On the opposite Wednesdays, an in-person study hall meets in the mornings.

This is a knit along, not a traditional "class". You won't get specific instruction from us as you are knitting line by line. We are all knitting this sweater together, but at your own pace. We will certainly answer questions when they come up, but this is not a formal class.
If you live locally, you are welcome to come to the in-person knit-along times the weeks opposite the zoom class.
We look forward to knitting along with you.

We are offering a 10% discount on Sport and DK weight yarn for this project! Use coupon code 4in12

 1 (2, 3, 4) (5, 6, 7)

Finished Bust Measurement: 38 (43.25, 48.5 , 54) (59.25, 63.25, 68.75)"

Picking a Size: Choose a size that is approx 6-10”/15-26 cm larger than your actual chest measurement (or less if you prefer a more fitted look). Sample is shown in size 2 (43.25”/110 cm), being worn with approx 10”/26 cm of positive ease at the bust.

In the rnd: 24 sts & 46 rnds = 4”/10 cm in Slip Stitch Patt in the rnd after blocking.

Flat: 24 sts & 42 rnds = 4”/10 cm in Slip Stitch Patt flat after blocking.

Note: when swatching, focus on matching the “in the rnd” gauge since that is the gauge for the body. Also, getting stitch gauge is more important than row gauge (you can adjust length as needed in the pattern).

Yarn: Sport or DK-weight yarn.

During Zoom sessions, extensive demonstrations may be limited, as we do our best to answer as many questions as we can and help as many people as possible! If you are wanting some one-on-one help, we recommend attending the Study Hall In-Person classes on the opposite Wednesdays as the Zooms. If you are unable to attend Study Hall, we ask that you call and make an appointment so we can assure that one of our staff is available to assist you.
You may or may not have experience with some of these techniques, and we anticipate that everyone will be at different learning stages throughout this knit-a-long.

Registering for this 10am KAL gets you the link for the 10am class AND/OR the 6pm KAL
