Simplifying Gauge



Gauge - just the word conjures up feelings of uncertainty, stress, and even dread. We all know we are supposed to swatch, but do we? Lori will take the mystery out of gauge swatching in this one-session lecture-style class for knitters. You will have an opportunity to try out gauge-measuring tools like these or these or these or these.

Class: Simplifying Gauge
Skills required: 
Long tail cast-on, the knit stitch, & the purl stitch.
You will learn: 
How to swatch for a specific pattern gauge; making adjustments to achieve gauge; how and where to take body measurements for sizing; and why swatches lie. You'll also sample several different tools to make calculating gauge easier.

Lori will be sharing a lot of information during this lecture-style class. Bring something to take notes with and feel free to bring one of your knitting projects to work on while you listen to how to Simplify your Gauge : )
