4 in 12 KAL Community Cozy

We are kicking off the first quarter of our 4-in-12 Sweater Knit-a-Long series with the Community Cozy by Alicia Plummer.

This sweater is worked flat. The front and backs are knit, then joined at the shoulders, then seamed at the sides. The sleeves are picked up and knit in the round. If you are trying to decide whether this project is your skill level, you should be very comfortable knitting and purling and should have knit some projects that include increasing and decreasing (k2tog, ssk). You will work some short rows in this project as well (wrap & turn).

New to 4-in-12? It's a free quarterly sweater knit-a-long that meets every other week on zoom in the morning and the evening. On the opposite Wednesdays, an in-person study hall meets in the mornings.

This is a knit along, not a traditional "class". You won't get specific instruction from us as you are knitting line by line. We are all knitting this sweater together, but at your own pace. We will certainly answer questions when they come up, but this is not a formal class.
If you live locally, you are welcome to come to the in-person knit along times the weeks opposite the zoom class.
We look forward to knitting along with you.

Zoom sessions will begin on January 17 at our usual 10-11 AM and 6-7 PM, with Study Hall kicking off the following week in the Makers' lounge from 10-11 AM. Registering for this class will get you the link that is good for the 10am class OR the 6pm class.

We are recommending a Heavy Worsted to Bulky Weight yarn for this sweater. The recommended gauge is 13.5 stitches per 4 inches.

Sizes available: 41.5 (44, 48.5, 53, 56, 60.5, 63, 67.5, 70, 74.5, 77)”

Emily swatched using Fluff by Originally Lovely, a new-to-us yarn from a new local yarn company. She is knitting it on a 10.5 needle. If you want to use Fluff too, you will need 5 (6, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14) balls.

Carroll swatched using Cascade Eco Wool. If you want to use Ecological Wool or Eco +, you'll need 2 (2, 2, 2, 3, 3, 3, 4, 4, 4, 5) skeins.

Not a fan of either of these two yarns? Take a look at what others have used in the Ravelry projects here.

This FREE knit-a-long meets every other Wednesday on Zoom - a morning session meets from 10-11 AM and an evening session meets from 6-7 PM. You are welcome to attend either or both!

We also have an in-person study hall that meets in our Makers Lounge on the opposite Wednesdays from 10-11 AM.

Dates for the Wednesday ZOOM sessions are:

February 14

Dates for the in-person Study Hall sessions are:

During Zoom sessions, extensive demonstrations may be limited, as we do our best to answer as many questions as we can and help as many people as possible! If you are wanting some one-on-one help, we recommend attending the Study Hall In-Person classes on the opposite Wednesdays as the Zooms. If you are unable to attend Study Hall, we ask that you call and make an appointment so we can assure that one of our staff is available to assist you.
You may or may not have experience with some of these techniques, and we anticipate that everyone will be at different learning stages throughout this knit-a-long.

Registering for this 10am KAL gets you the link for the 10am class AND/OR the 6pm KAL
