It's a free knit along on zoom every other Wednesday. We also have an in-person meet-up the opposite weeks from 10am - noon in the Makers' Lounge.

During Zoom sessions, extensive demonstrations may be limited, as we do our best to answer as many questions as we can and help as many people as possible! If you are wanting some one-on-one help, we recommend attending the Study Hall In-Person classes on the opposite Wednesdays as the Zooms. If you are unable to attend Study Hall, we ask that you call and make an appointment so we can assure that one of our staff is available to assist you.

You may or may not have experience with some of these techniques, and we anticipate that everyone will be at different learning stages throughout this knit-a-long.

The original sweater was knit holding 4 strands together to get this fluffy soft fabric but you certainly do not have to do that. If you are more comfortable with just one strand of yarn you can do that too.

1. If you want it to be most like the original sweater. We suggest you choose Manchelopis (this is a 2 ply non spun yarn so you only need one strand of it) along with 2 strands of mohair. Most knitters require between 700 - 900 yards of each strand. So that's 3 or 4 "cakes" of the Manchelopis. Then another 7 or 8 of the mohair.

If you are ok using multiple strands of yarn for this sweater, as it is written, we suggest using Manchelopis and 2 strands of a lace mohair. We suggest Silky Kid. You can see the colors here, but we can get most any color. We are placing an order October 2nd.

We recommend calling us to talk this project through. If you want to use a single strand you need to choose a yarn that will get you to a net worsted weight. The gauge is 12 stitches/4" so it is a loose gauge. We are able to special order colors. So you can call us or email us and we can see if the color you want is available.
