My First Cardigan
Would you love to knit a sweater but are unsure where to start? What pattern is a good one to try? Thinking, how would you ever finish? We can help you with all those questions and more. Amy will walk you through gauge, increasing, separating sleeves, buttonholes and finishing in this first sweater class.
Class: My First Cardigan
Skill Level: Advanced Beginner, must be able to knit, purl, and knit in the round comfortably.

- Felix Cardigan Pattern by Amy Christoffer's available to purchase at DKA or on Ravelry
- Heave Worsted-Aran-yardage dependent size made and pattrern chosen. If you prefer a longer waisted sweater more yarn will need to be purchased
- US 10: circular 16” and 24” or longer for body
- US 10 set of 4 or 5 DPN or US 10-40 inch circular magic loop for sleeves.
- US 8/5mm: circular 16” and 24” or longer
- US 8 set of 4 or 5 DPN or US 8-40 inch for sleeve cuffs.
- US 5/3.75mm circular or straight for tubular cast on (optional)
- Stitch Makers
- Tapestry Needle
- Scissor
- 6 buttons, can be purchased later and discussed in class
We can assist you with sizing and yarn selection at the shop. A reminder, students are given a 10% discount for supplies needed for class and any purchases at the shop during class days, excludes sale items, classes and events.
*Please register early. Classes with less than 3 registrations, 72 hours prior to the start date, will be canceled and participants will be given a full refund. Student Cancellations may be made up to 48 hours before the first class is held. No refunds for cancellations will be made within 48 hours of class.*
