Christmas Stocking Class

If you've known us for a few years, you know that our favorite class is the Christmas Stocking Class. Nancy Lindberg's Christmas Sock pattern is the best. Our Nanny Jean would be happy. She was the Christmas Stocking knitter of the family. Every new member of the Doyle Clan earned a hand knit stocking from our Nan. Carly and I have now become the stocking makers and we couldn’t be prouder. She would be so happy we are carrying on her tradition. 

In this three session class we'll teach you a new technique, chart reading, stranded colorwork, afterthought heel, and the Finchley Graft. 

Class:  Christmas Stockings
Skill Level:  Advanced Beginner,  you must be very comfortable with knitting and purling.

Supplies Needed
-3-5 colors of Cascade 220,  it can be found here on our website
-16” US8 Circular Needle - 
-Stitch marker, darning needle
-You will also need the Christmas Socks pattern from Nancy Lindberg. Download directly from Ravelry, or we can get it for you at the shop.

There is homework for this class:
Class 1: Come to class with the project cast on and ribbing completed. You can either cast on 60 stitches or 72 stitches. 60 stitches is a smaller stocking. This is Aimee's go to size. We'll be learning about charting the name and stranded colorwork basics. 

Class 2: Come to class with the leg of the stocking knit to the heel. We'll learn about afterthought heels.

Class 3: Come to class with stocking completed to toe decrease. We'll be decreasing for the toe and learning Finchley Graft and finishing.
