My First Sweater-Weekday Option

Would you love to knit a sweater but are unsure where to start?  What pattern is a good one to try?  Thinking, how would you ever finish?  We can help you with all those questions and more.   Amy will walk you through gauge to finishing in this first sweater class.  Choose a pattern, and with Aran weight yarn, you will see your progress over the four weeks.  

Class:    My First Sweater-Pullover or Cardigan
Skill Level:  Advanced Beginner,  must be able to knit, purl, and knit in the round comfortably.

Supplies Needed:  

Pick one of the sweaters:

  • Flax Sweater Pattern,  by Tin Can Knits, free on Ravelry or 
  • Salt Lake Cardigan Pattern by Michael Voledman or
  • Carbeth Pattern by Cate Davies (there is also a cardigan version available)
  • Aran or Bulky Weight Yarn-yardage dependent on pattern and size made
  • Needles,  size, and length are dependent on size and pattern
  • Stitch Makers
  • Yarn Needle

We can assist you with sizing and yarn selection at the shop.  A reminder, students are given a 10% discount for supplies needed for class and any purchases at the shop during class days. 

*Please register early.   Classes with less than 5 registrations 48 hours before the start date, will be canceled, and participants will be given a full refund.* 

COVID Policy - Masks are optional.  If there is any possibility that you may be ill or have been exposed to someone with COVID, we ask that you review the current CDC guidelines for direction.
