This sweater knit-a-long will explore the following techniques:
- Wrap-and-Turn Short Rows
- M1R and M1L Increases
- 2-color Stranded Colorwork
- Charted Colorwork
- Top-Down Construction
During Zoom sessions, extensive demonstrations may be limited, as we do our best to answer as many questions as we can and help as many people as possible! If you are wanting some one-on-one help, we recommend attending the Study Hall In-Person classes on the opposite Wednesdays as the Zooms. If you are unable to attend Study Hall, we ask that you call and make an appointment so we can assure that one of our staff is available to assist you.
You may or may not have experience with some of these techniques, and we anticipate that everyone will be at different learning stages throughout this knit-a-long. Keep in mind that this is not a beginning color work class. Carroll and Emily recommend checking out a couple of these tutorials for some extra assistance with these techniques.

==============================================

This sweater requires a gauge of 20 stitches/4 inches. Many yarns will get you to that gauge. The critical thing is that you like the fabric you are making and that the fabric works for the design. If you want a tighter fit around your shoulders, you should choose a yarn that is firm (not a 100% superwash merino. So this might not be the best project for Malabrigo Rios)

Our sample was knit in a new yarn from us called Dehesa de Barrera DK. It is a 100% Spanish Merino.

Jeri knit it and we all just love it. It is a "firmer" fabric, but it isn't heavy and Emily. Sue, and Aimee all tried it on and it fit all of us! This is the 44" size.

While we never require you to purchase yarn from our store for classes, we would appreciate it very much if you purchased yarn from us for this free knit along. Stop in and chat with us about supplies!

Remember to use coupon code '4in12' to get 10% off! If a yarn doesn't show a discount at checkout with the code. Please let us know before you check out. We can make sure it works for you.
