Speedy Selbu Mittens

Learn how to make these beautiful Norwegian selbu mittens. Over three classes you will tackle design, construction and colorwork as well as the confidence to complete these mittens. Bonus these mittens are done in Aran weight yarn so they knit quickly!

Skills required:  Know how to knit and purl comfortably. 
You will learn: knitting with 2 colors, how to read a chart, all about floats, backwards loop cast on,

Supplies Needed:

• Speedy Selbu Mittens pattern by Skeindeer knits The Aran weight version.
• Approximately 110 yards of Aran weight yarn in main color
• Approximately 110 yards of Aran weight yarn in contrasting color
• We suggest WYS Jacob Aran or Bluefaced Leicester Aran or Soft Donegal
• Needle size is determined by yarn weight, knitting tension, and desired mitten size. Depending on these factors, students will need needles as small as US4 and as large as US11. Lori will explain this in the first class and you'll have time to purchase the appropriate size needles.  DPN or circular for magic loop
