Class: Beginning Spinning

Supplies needed and/or supplied: We will have different spinning wheels people can try out or you can bring your own wheel (or drop spindle) to use.
Students are given a 10% discount for supplies and purchases at the shop during this class.
*Please register early. Classes with less than 2 registrations, 48 hours prior to the start date, will be canceled and participants will be given a full refund.*

Elizabeth's Bio: Elizabeth Belz is a blacksmith, educator, and the owner of Black Widow Forge, LLC. She was the blacksmithing apprentice at the Metal Museum in Memphis, TN for two years where she trained under master metalsmith Jim Masterson. Elizabeth was a craft education intern at North House Folk School, Grand Marais in 2016, and a resident artist with the Science Museum of Minnesota in 2017. Belz has exhibited her work, competed, and taught blacksmithing throughout the United States and internationally. She is currently the Blacksmithing and metals coordinator at John C Campbell Folk School and recently finished up the Arrowmont 2021-22 Artist Residency. Elizabeth has been spinning yarn for over ten years so don't let all the metals experience deter you.
