Fix This!



Let's learn how to fix some of our most common mistakes.

What happens if you are short a stitch or have too many. How do you back out a k2tog or SSK or CDD? What if you forgot to increase or decrease? How do you fix a dropped stitch?


We hope this class gives you some added confidence. 

You'll learn to pick up dropped stitches in stockinette and garter stitch. 

You'll learn to unknit knit and purl stitches.

You'll learn about reading columns of knitting to recognize common mistakes. 

You'll learn how to put your stitches back on the needles after you rip out.

You'll learn about lifelines.

Supplies: 2 homework swatches - below
A knitting needle about 2 sizes smaller than your swatch needle
Size F or G crochet hook

Homework Swatches:
Use light colored, worsted weight wool yarn. US7 or 8 needle.


Swatch 1 - garter stitch

Cast on 20 Stitches

All rows: Knit 20 stitches

Work above rows for 12 rows - leave stitches on holder or needle, cut yarn with 1 yarn of yarn as tail

Swatch 2 - stockinette stitch

Cast on 28 Stitches

Rows 1 - 5: Knit all stitches
Row 6: (WS) Knit 4, Purl 20, Knit 4.
Row 7: (RS) Knit all stitches
Row 8: (WS) Knit 4, Purl 20, Knit 4.
Row 9: (RS) Knit all stitches
Row 10: (WS) Knit 4, Purl 20, Knit 4.
Row 11: (RS) Knit all stitches
Row 12: (WS) Knit 4, Purl 20, Knit 4.
Row 13: RS) Knit 8 stitches, (purl 1, knit 1) 6 times, Knit 8 stitches
Row 14: (WS) Knit 4, Purl 20, K4
Row 15: (RS) Knit all stitches.
Row 16: (WS) Knit 4, Purl 20, K4
Leave stitches on needle, with yarn attached. We'll be working with this swatch first.
